General Instruction for Birth/Death Certificate

Children of Bangladeshi nationals (father or mother or both) born in Indonesia/Papua New Guinea/Nauru/Kiribati are eligible to register their birth at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Jakarta. Parents/legal guardians of the newborn are expected to apply for the child’s birth registration.

Death of a Bangladeshi national passed away in Indonesia/Papua New Guinea/Nauru/Kiribati could be registered through the Embassy of Bangladesh in Jakarta. The immediate family members of the deceased are expected to apply for the death registration.

For Birth Registration:

Step 1:
Apply online through http://bdris.gov.bd/

Step 2: Pay the fees, if applicable (Could be paid by bank transfer)

Type of Service

Fee in Indonesian IDR

Birth Registration (if registered within 45 days of birth)

Free

Birth Registration (after 45 days of birth)

100,000 IDR

Step 3: Submit online application printout and other documents to the Embassy

Step 4: Collect the Birth Registration Certificate from Embassy

Required Documents:
1. Birth certificate from local authorities of Indonesia/Papua New Guinea/Nauru/Kiribati

2. Passport copies of Father and Mother

3. Birth registration certificate of Father and Mother

* The Embassy may ask for additional documents if required.

For Death Registration:
*for death registration, one must have his/her birth registration

Step 1: Apply online through http://bdris.gov.bd/

Step 2: Pay the fees, if applicable (Could be paid by bank transfer)

Step 3: Submit online application printout (with the signature of the reporting family member) and other documents to the Embassy

Step 4: Collect the Death Registration Certificate from Embassy

  1. Death certificate from local authorities of Indonesia/Papua New Guinea/Nauru/Kiribati
  2. Passport copy of the deceased
  3. Passport copy of the reporting family member
